Aether originally designed Aether 1 Bioprinter to be a modular 10 extruder 3D bioprinting system. As we work to complete our beta units and ship them off to university, government, and private researchers, we continue to make major upgrades, even until the very last minute.
We have now expanded Aether 1’s 10 extruder system to allow a maximum capacity of 24 extruders, more than doubling its already massive capacity. Aether 1 base units will still come standard with 8 syringe extruders and 2 FFF hot-end extruders. However, now Aether 1 can be optionally upgraded with up to 14 droplet jet extruders for an unprecedented total of 24 extruders.
That’s up to 24 materials in a single print.
Most 3D bioprinters that sell for around $250,000 offer about 2-4 extruders. Now with Aether 1, you can have 6-12 times the number of extruders for a small fraction of the price.
24 materials is a full order of magnitude over what’s available on today’s market. Aether 1’s price is also a full order of magnitude better, starting at $9,000, a micro-fraction of the competition, Anytime a new product is 10x better than the competition, you’re likely to see a major change in that industry. When a product is 10x better and 10x cheaper, a true revolution will begin.
(If we’re talking about the $9,000 10 extruder base unit, it’s actually nearly 30x cheaper than the competition)
